Unremarkable or Remarkable?

I am working on exhibits for the museum and I am taking unremarkable items and transforming them in to works of art. A follower on Facebook poised an interesting question... "If you transform them, will they still be unremarkable?"

Building Site of the Museum

The building site of the Museum of Unremarkable Objects is down a Sleepy Hollow rural road in the heart of The Driftless Area, near Gays Mills, Wisconsin. The museum will be located “next door” to The Sleepy Hollow Stump,a neighborhood art project. Created in 2016 and inspired by the Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls) in Mexico, the Sleepy Hollow Stump started off as a place to display the creepy dolls that I love so much. The Stump has evolved into a neighborhood collaboration, with friends, neighbors and passing strangers adding their own pieces to the stump area, which now has grown larger in size and space. In June of 2021, the building to house the museum will be added to the east of the Stump area.

A new addition to Sleepy Hollow

In 2018 I visited an amazing place called the Museum of Everyday Life in Glover, Vermont. I knew then that I wanted to open and curate my own museum at home in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. After years of dreaming,I'm going to make the Museum of Unremarkable Objects a reality in 2021. The site will be located next to the nieghborhood art project on South Sleepy Hollow Road. It will be a tiny building, but I have huge ideas to fill it.

Our Museum

The building for our museum has been aquired and we will move it to its permanent site in our Sleepy Hollow. After it is set on a foundation, the building will be upgraded and improved. We are hoping to be completed by June of 2021.
